World’s current number 1 tennis star, Naomi Osaka, has been sued by her coach, Christophe Jean, over a breach of a contract that her father, Leonard Francois, purportedly signed with the coach 8 years ago, when he began working with Naomi and his other daughter, Mari. Naomi was 13, at the time.
Christophe claims that Leonard, who could not afford his fee at the time, put pen to paper and signed 20% of Naomi’s and Mari’s career earnings to him, indefinitely (or, for life), in exchange for training his daughters. He said that he has the documents to back up his claims, and has filed them in his suit at the state court in Florida.
As they say. ‘more money, more problems’, Naomi is now 21 years old, and ranked tennis’ number 1, after beating Serena Williams at the 2018 US Open, and will now be fighting her first legal battle over her earnings in tennis prize and endorsements.
