Plant that converts cassava to ethanol is being built in Ondo state, will be ready for operation soon

The Industrialization efforts of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, will soon receive a major boost as the cassava to ethanol plant at the Ondo /Linyi Industrial Hub within Ore Industrial Park, Ore will soon be ready for operation.

Massive work is currently ongoing on the cassava to ethanol plant. The plant is a product of one of the Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Akeredolu’s administration and the Linyi Municipal Republic in China during the Governor’s visit to China last year.

The vision of the Governor to industrialize the state for economy prosperity is yeilding more positive results.

When completed, the cassava to ethanol plant will need 300 to 400 tons of cassava daily. What this means is that cassava farmers in the state will have a ready market at the plant. With an estimation of about 1 million tons annually, the cassava to ethanol plant will also afford the state the unique opportunity to key into the Federal Government initiative of Cassava off – takers.

This plant alone provides a window of employment opportunities for the youths in the state.

Below is an highlight of some of the giant strides the ONDO state government is taking.

1- ON INDUSTRY THROUGH AKEREDOLU’S ADMINISTRATION: Establishment and Management of Cattle Fattening and Ranch at AUGA Agric Business Centre in partnership with Peace Aid Project Ltd.
2- 2- Development of 87.56 hectares of land into Housing Estate with a Government Reserve Area (GRA) status named Sunprime Estate at Abo Asakin Community, off Akure – Owo Express way, opposite Akure Airport, Akure North Local Govt. Area, in partnership with PREMIUM & NELSON LTD
3- On assumption of office, @RotimiAkeredolu led administration has established and managing and maintaining 1000 hectares of oil palm plantation at the Ondo State Agribusiness Centre, Ore in partnership with Bambi Farms Ltd.
4- Renovation/completion of uncompleted unit of the 106 Housing units and the full development of the entire Sunshine Estate Housing project on 32.56 hectares of land along Oda road, Akure in partnership with INTEGRATED ASSOCIATE LIMITED
5- Active drive on establishment of deep sea port (Port of Ondo) with near completion of the geotechnical and hydrographic surveys as well as the feasibility studies and Conceptual Master plan Design on the Port.
6- Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) never disappoints on investment and industrialization. Now we have Free Trade Zone established, managed and operated by the state government at Ilaje Local Govt. in partnership with ZGM Investment Group of Company.
7- The effort of @RotimiAkeredolu on industrialization cannot be over-emphasized as he Constructed a smooth 4 Lane Dual carriage way from Araromi to Akure (GREENFIELD) in partnership with CRCC Construction Company.
8- Free Trade Zone: Ondo State to build Mega City Netherlands Firm Maritime Business Transport Business Solution Limited (MBTS) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government in order to develop deep-sea port and industrial Mega City in the state.
9- This project will open up the riverine area of the state for international businesses. The industrial mega city will have import, export and coaster shipments facilities that will promote the industrialization of the state.
10- By so doing, Governor Akeredolu has opened the Southern Part of the state for business and employment opportunities.
11- CEO of Peace Aid Project (PAP), Benson Emakpor said the state government has established collaboration with PAP in order to produce healthy cattle and disease free beef in the state,
12- saying a minimum of 500 youth and women would be trained and empowered in Cattle Fattening at the Auga Cattle Ranch.
